Sunshine board

My mother-in-law taught my boys to sing "you are my sunshine" and they love to sing it with her. It's their special song. So for Christmas I made this little sign for her. I cute some vinyl with my Silhouette and attached the picture with some mod podge. Simple but cute...I think.

Yarn Wreaths

I saw these cute yarn wreaths all over Pinterest so I decided to make some for Christmas gifts. I also saw the great idea to get some foam tubing from home depot to make a wreath form. It was super cheap but I had a hard time keeping it perfectly round....as you will see in these pictures. I like how inexpensive it was but I'm not sure I'll use them again. We'll see. I got some yarn at the dollar store and then made these awesome felt flowers I saw here.
I think these are really cute and I want to make one for me. I hope the recipients like them as much as I do.

Piano student gifts

Oh how I love my Silhouette. Here is what it helped me with today. I made some little gifts for my piano students. First, I got some hand sanitizer, peeled off the labels and put some vinyl music notes on them.

Then I made these cute little boxes and tags with my Silhouette machine and some card stock and assemble them all together. I put some more vinyl music notes on the outside of the box then filled them with the hand sanitizer and some Christmas candy.

And there you go. Cute, homemade (mostly) gifts for my piano students. (And we made one for Nathan's preschool teacher...just left off the music notes)

Neighbor gifts

This year on our limited budget, and sticking to the homemade theme that I wanted to do, we made bread for our neighbor gifts this year. I got some mini loaf pans and some little containers and made this recipe for the bread, and this recipe for the cinnamon honey butter. I used my handy Silhouette machine to cut out the tags and there you go. Fun little homemade gifts of goodness :)

Candy Jars

My friends made these cute candy jars recently and so tonight, I decided to copy them :) It was pretty simple. I got some bed risers from walmart, a glass canister, vinyl, and ribbon. I glued the canister to the bed riser (with Gorilla glue) put some vinyl polka dots on it and tied a red ribbon around it. I think they are so cute! My friend's jars say "candy" on them instead of the polka dots but I decided to be a little different. Hope the people I'm giving them to for Christmas think they are as cute as I do!

Handprint Snowman Christmas Ornaments

I saw these cute ornaments on Pinterest where you take your kids hands, paint them white and put the handprint on an ornament and the fingers make cute snowmen.
I found the blue ornaments at the DI for a dollar a while back so I've been saving them for this very thing!
The boys loved having their hands painted white. I think they turned out pretty cute. They seem pretty fail proof.

I used a permanent marker for the black and just some acrylic paint with a toothpick for the other details...which was just a nose, hats and scarves. Pretty easy.
I wrote their names on the bottom with the year so we will always remember.
Can't wait to put them on our tree!

Nativity

I love my Silhouette machine! I used it to cut out this Nativity scene out of card stock and I just put it in a cute Christmas frame and now I have a cute decoration for my piano.

My friend gave me this frame that she made a few years ago for Christmas and I've never known what to do with it...until now! I love it.

Wood Christmas Tree's

It has been a tradition in my family that we do a craft on Thanksgiving day or the day after, so this year while my family was here we did Christmas trees. My dad cut out all the wood for us (Thanks dad!) and me, my mom, and my sister-in-law, Katy painted our trees. I mod podged scrapbook paper on mine. They turned out really cute!
Here are mine....
